chescaleigh: This past Memorial Day weekend, while walking home...

This past Memorial Day weekend, while walking home from work, twin brothers Aaron and Kristin were brutally attacked around 3 am Sunday in the LES by approximately 10-12 men. Despite eyewitnesses and surveillance video of the attack, the NYPD were quick to label the attack "gang related" and close the case without any investigation. When Aaron's girlfriend, Cipriana followed up with police a day after the attack she was told that the twins said they did not want an investigation and would "handle it themselves". Knowing this was untrue, Cipriana encouraged Aaron to contact the police and ask them to pursue the investigation.
When Aaron spoke with police and explained that they did in fact want an investigation he was told he could "face jail time for lying". It wasn't until Cipriana took to her blog, urbanbushbabes.com to write about the attack and the lack of police investigation that the press took note (NY Post & Fox 5) and the police suddenly changed their tune. Now the NYPD claims the case was never closed and has labeled it a hate crime.
We really need your help to get this story out and to get justice for the twins. Here's how you can help:
• Sign the change.org petition to hold the NYPD & Internal Affairs Bureau Liable for their misconduct in the handling of Aaron and Kristin's case

Mourning is not forgetting… It is an undoing. Every minute tie has to be untied and something permanent and valuable recovered and assimilated from the dust.
Why in the name of god would somebody create a photoset like this!? D:
Context: Eddie Guerrero was a very popular wrestler who died suddenly in 2005 of heart failure. After he died, WWE decided to turn both their TV shows - Raw and Smackdown - into tribute shows for that week. Both were utterly heartbreaking and devastating to the feels. All the storylines, feuds, etc. were suspended for that week and wrestlers only had to compete if they wanted to, which most of the did. So all the matches on Raw and Smackdown were effectively tributes in Eddie's memory.
It probably seems odd to non-wrestling fans that they're reaction to his death was to "rassle", but that's how that was their coping mechanism, that was how they dealt with the pain. The thing you have to understand is that these guys and girls are on the road for like 300 days a year and it's natural that they grow close to one another, so when one of them dies, it affects them more than people on the outside think.
Anyway, in between the matches, they would air these videos that were recorded after news of Eddie's death broke. They were just of different wrestlers saying goodbye, telling little stories about Eddie and what he was like in real life and everything. These videos were just heartbreaking because all of the wrestlers would break down and bawl like babies.
The tribute show on Smackdown added an extra punch to the feels. Part of Eddie's gimmick was that he would drive to the ring in a lowrider. For the tribute show, they had the car parked in front of the ring and every wrestler who came down to the ring for their match would stop beside the car and just stare at it for a moment. I think almost all, if not all of them, would reach out and either pat the hood or rest their hand on it.
God, I was in tears during those two nights.
THE DAY OF the announcement of Eddie's death me and my friends were attending the funeral of a close friends of ours who was also a huge Eddie Guerrero fan. I couldn't hold it inWrestling trivia: Someone in this photo-set is now dead. Who is it?
Chris Benoit, who didn't get a tribute show. Instead, he got a clip show and was then almost completely erased from history after it was discovered that he had murdered his family and committed suicide.

Photographer Dina Goldstein's series "Fallen Princesses" has actually been around since 2009 but I had never posted the photographs as a complete set before. The project looks at Disney fairy tale princesses and their harshly realistic modern day lifestyles. Seems not everybody lives happily ever after. This project has won several awards, been published internationally in magazines, analyzed by experts in the field of Fairytale literature and studied in High schools and Universities.

catsandcunts: ahsadler: kabutopz: So last night I came across...

So last night I came across this table with 3 girls. They said they were out celebrating. When I asked what they were celebrating, one girl replied "my new hair color I'm now blonde". She wasn't blonde, her hair was golden brown. Anyway, so she orders a blue cheese bacon burger and wanted to add extra cheddar cheese. When her burger came out, there was no blue cheese. So being my job, I brought it back to the kitchen and brought out a new burger with blue cheese. After about 10 mins or so, she tells me she hates the blue cheese and wants it off. Of course I take the burger back and make her a new burger for the second time. Then seeing she eats half the burger and assuming shes done since she put trash on her plate, she complains she hated the burger all together. Then asks for a sundae with sparklers and candles since they wanted to make this a big celebration. After I was done serving them, correctly doing my job and being as helpful and has nice as I can, I drop off the check. After they leave, this is what I find. I understand she was upset about her burger, but I worked my ass off for this table and did so much for them. I even got them stuff discounted on the bill. She put "NAH SON" for tip and signed it "smooche da puss" instead of her signature. I can't believe how disrespectful some people are now a days.
OK, dipshits, listen up: In the US, servers make all of $2 an hour, and the rest is from tips. They are taxed at the expectation of a 15% tip (which accounts for the hourly wage), and in most restaurants they have to give a certain percentage (say, 2.5%) to the busser, the host, and maybe the dishwasher. They have to pay tax and tip out even if the customer leaves no tip. When you leave less than 10%, the server worked your table for free. When you leave nothing at all, the server PAID to work your table. On this bill, that server would have had to pay almost $15 for the "privilege" of serving you.
IF YOUR SERVER DOES THEIR JOB, ON EVERYTHING THEY CAN CONTROL—WHICH DOES NOT INCLUDE THE KITCHEN FUCKING UP—AND YOU LEAVE NO TIP, YOU ARE A FUCKING ASSHOLE.
Also, if being a decent human being isn't enough motivation for you, then remember this: If you tip less than 10 or more than 20%, you will be remembered and treated accordingly the next time you come in. If you leave no tip and you ever show your face in that restaurant again, they WILL fuck with your food, almost guaranteed.
This pisses me off so much wow

friendlyneighborhoodcurmudgeon:
Two MSU basketball players raped a woman in the dorms then one admitted to it. Their only consequence was that they had to move out of the dorms. This picture is of me and one other woman holding up this banner during Midnight Madness. Two other brave souls had a banner on the other side for a while before some jerk started playing tug or war with them over it. This was taken before we got booed at by 10,000 people and police escorted from the stadium.
How screwed up are people to boo at this?
Which two players??? Name names…
